The Librarian from the Black Lagoon

Do you have a crazy librarian? This book is about a boy named Hubie who is sure he has a crazy librarian. He hears rumors that the new librarian has pink skin, horns, and shoes that have rubber stamps. Everywhere she steps it says: OVERDUE! Hubie believes all of these rumors are true and he won't believe they're not. Now his day is worse because his class is visiting the library. But, Hubie is very surprised to see that the librarian is a neat lady. She even saved Hubie a book of knock-knock jokes!

I thought this book was funny because Hubie is very gullible. That means he believes everything he hears. That is why Hubie was scared to go to the library. I would be scared to go to the library too if I thought our librarian was as bad as Hubie's was supposed to be. I thought that the illustrations in the book were cool because they seemed like pictures you would see in a chapter book. They are also very colorful. My favorite part of the book was when Hubie says that part of the rumor was that the librarian laminates kids for whispering.

I would recommend this book to all third graders. I know many of you like scary books. If you do, I know you will enjoy this book!
