There was a cat named socks in a cat sale in a box. He was striped with white paws. Mr. and Mrs Brickers came and bought him for 50 cents. Socks loved the Bricks and the Bricks loved Socks. Socks was very happy. Then the Brickers had a baby. They ignored socks. They had him on a diet. Socks was very, very, very, very unhappy. One day socks bit Mrs. Brickers ankle and he was put outside where he got into a cat fight.
A special character was the babysitter, Mrs Risley, because she paid more attention to Socks Than to the baby It was sad that socks was not being treated nicely. My favorite part was the end because socks and the baby became friends.
I recommend this book to people who like cats. Also people who like happy endings.

I liked the book because it was well written and the pictures were well drawn.
