Ivy and Bean are two very different, but inseparable friends. When they discover a ghost in the girls' bathroom at Emerson school, they are very excited. A ghost in their very own school! But when the ghost starts causing trouble, it isn't so exciting anymore. Nobody wants to use a haunted bathroom. Now Ivy and Bean need to find a way to get rid of the ghost. If you want to find out what happens to Ivy and Bean, you need to read Ivy and Bean and the Ghost That Had to Go.
I love Ivy and Bean because their personalities are very different. Ivy is an introvert, and Bean is an extrovert, but they make excellent friends. I think Annie Barrows does a great job making the story realistic and exciting. My favorite part is when Bean wakes up in the middle of the night and cuts some of Nancy's (her sister's) hair. I liked this part because I thought it was very funny and suspenseful. This story made me think of when I thought there was a witch in the bathroom fan at my house.
I would recommend this book to 1-3 graders. If you like realistic fiction about two friends who get into mischief, this is the book for you!
