Get Ready for Gabi

This book is about a girl named Gabi who always mixes up her English and Spanish together. When she speaks English and Spanish in front of her mom, she gets mad and calls it Spanglish. Gabi tries not to speak Spanglish. Gabi always speaks Spanglish when she is mad, even though she is not supposed to. The reason Gabi's mom gets mad when she speaks Spanglish is because she can't understand what she says. Gabi's mom speaks English and Spanish and she still doesn't know what Gabi is saying. Gabi should not speak Spanglish anymore.

I recommend this book so that you can find out if Gabi stops speaking Spanglish or if she continues. I also suggest you read this if you want to learn some words in Spanish. I think you should read this book if you know English and Spanish.

I like this book because a lot a students at my school speak English and Spanish just like Gabi. A lot of times girls at my school speak "Spanglish" and I don't understand them just like Gabi's mom. This book also reminds me of Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse because Gabi's teacher takes away her boots and Lilly's teacher takes away her purse.
