Boxcar Children Black Widow Spider Mystery

Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny Alden lived with their grandfather in a house in Greenfield. One day Benny was looking out the window and saw a moving truck. They were getting new neighbors. Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny helped Mrs.MacGregor make a cake for the neighbors. When it was done they went with their Grandfather over to the neighbor's house. When they got to their house they saw something unusual. They saw spiders. They knocked on the door. A girl answered it. Grandfather and the children introduced themselves to Mr. and Mrs. Blackwell. Mrs. Blackwell asked the kids if they would help them unpack. During supper they thought about how odd it was to have spiders on a gate. The next day Mrs. Blackwell gave them a tour of the house. The boxes with a red mark go in this hallway. Do not go in this door . The rest of the boxes go where it says. The children got right to work. After they got the boxes in the rooms they put the kitchen stuff away. The next day they put the books away in the library. When they were unpacking they noticed a box with a red mark on. It was in the wrong room. Benny took the box and set it in the room. A person yelled "Get out of here." Benny saw a big black spider in a case. When he got back to the library, he told them what he saw. They were frightened, but they went back to work. The next day they went to the museum to see if they could find out any information on the spider that Benny saw. If you want to see why the Blackwells like spiders you have to read the book.

I like this book because I like to solve mysteries. I had fun trying to figure out the mystery of the black spiders before the author gave me the answer. I liked how the children used the clues to figure out why Mr.and Mrs. Blackwell liked spiders. This book is in a series that Gertrude Chandler Warner wrote about the boxcar children. The boxcar children are around my age. That makes it more exciting to read. I can put myself in their place when I read their stories. As I read the book, I felt excited. I kept wondering what was going to happen next. I found all the children interesting because they never gave up until the mystery was solved. I never like to give up either before I know the answer to questions.

I recommend this book to people who love to solve mysteries. Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny will certainly interest you with their adventures especially when they go to the museum.
