The book is about 5 girls who hate Linda and made up a name for her: Blubber. One of the girls is Wendy. She is the meanest one of all because she makes fun of everyone she hates. For example, Wendy took of Linda's clothes in the bathroom. Wendy made up a list of how to have fun with Blubber. Two of them are: "Hold your nose when Blubber walks by" and "Make her say, 'I am Blubber, the smelliest whale of class 206'".

Tracy and Jill are best friends. They live right across from each other. They like to collect stamps. Tracy is Chinese- American. They are Wendy's friend.

Wendy was having a trial to see if Linda tattled on Tracy and Jill but she said she didn't. When Wendy locked Linda in the closet, Jill said Linda had to have a lawyer too, but Wendy said no so the trial was off.

What would you do if you were Wendy? Would you be mean or would you be nice? What do you think will happen at the end of the book?

I think the book is good for children who have problems with their friends and they can relate the story to their life. When my friends wanted to play soccer, one of my friends didn't and I asked her why not and she said "because I said so!" It's like when Wendy bosses everyone around. My favorite part was when Jill's dress was itchy and she itched all the way to the Bar Mitzvah in New Jersey. I liked this part because when I went to my cousin's Bar Mitzvah was very, very itchy and everyone was laughing at me because I was itching all over. I think it's a great book!!! It's fun to read because it's interesting to see what happens to the characters.

I recommend this book to kids who have trouble with their friends.
