The Hickory Chair

Have you ever read a book called The Hickory Chair? If you haven't this is a good book and you will love it. This book is about a little boy that loved is grandma very much. When his grandma died she hid lots of notes, but the little boy could not find his. When he grew up he found that note he was looking for. This book taught me to believe in my heart that you should check this book out.

I thought it was a good book because it teaches you lots of lessons, like when someone dies they still love you. I know this since I lost my own dad, so I have something in common with the main character, Louis. Another lesson this book teaches is to see with your heart. Louis was blind, but he had blind sight. The Hickory Chair is not like any book I have ever read. It is happy and sad at the same time.

I recommend this book for upper elementary students because someone's grandma dies. I enjoyed reading this book. It taught me that even though you may be blind, you can still see with your heart.
