Magic Treehouse: Afternoon in the Amazon

This is the first time that I have ever read a Magic Tree House book and I liked it. It is about a boy, Jack, and a girl, Annie, who go to the Rain Forest in the Magic Tree House to look for the second thing that will save Morgan, the Magic Librarian, from the time of King Arthur. They don't know what it is that they are looking for. They just have to go and figure it out as they go along. I can't tell you if they find it or not because it would ruin the story for you.

I liked it because it made me a little scared. It was scary when Jack and Annie were in a canoe with no paddles going down a fast river. Jack was trying to stop the canoe by grabbing a branch and the branch turned out to be a snake. They meet all kinds of scary animals. They come across crocodiles, marching army ants, piranhas, and a jaguar.

I learned some interesting things about the Rain Forest from this book. It has dark print in it that tells you true facts.

I would recommend this book to kids who like adventure stories. It's not too hard to read and is fun. I think that any kid who is about seven to nine years old would like to read it. I will read the next book to find out if Jack and Annie are able to get the last two things that they need to get Morgan free.
