James had some parents but they got killed by a rhino accident and he had to go and live with his aunts, Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spike. They were the meanest aunts he ever had in his whole life! They made him clean and take out trash and he did all that work for nothing because his aunts would just throw it back on the ground. One night James looked out the window and saw a peach on the tree. He yelled for his aunts and they came out and said that there is a peach up there. They built a fence around it, and people came to see it but they had to pay to see it and to bring a camera. Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker were down there making money and James was sitting up in his room looking at all those kids down there. He could be playing with them right now instead of being inside. When the people left, he had to go and pick up all the junk they left by the peach and when he was picking garbage he saw a hole on the side of the peach and he crawled through it. He heard a voice say, "Look who's here!" and he looked up and some juice from the peach dripped from on top of and then he stuck his tongue out and caught it thought is was delicious and he kept going. Then he came to a door inside the peach and he opened it and saw a lot of bugs. He tried to run back out then the door was gone then they sat and talked with James. The peach started to roll away from the house and the aunts ran after it and plunk, plunk! Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker were killed. They rolled into the water and the hooked some strings to a hundred seagulls and they flew over the Atlantic Ocean. Some cloud men tried to destoy the peach and they lost a lot of juice and made it lighter. The centipede bit a couple strings and and then they flew to America and they were over Central Park in New York, and they landed on the Empire State Building.
I liked this book. It was okay. I liked it because it was funny. My favorite character was the centipede because he said funny things. My favorite part was when the centipede asked James to take off his boots. They argued about how many feet he had and it was silly. I liked the illustrations, too. They were cool and went with the story pretty good.
I recommend this book because kids will think it is funny. I think that fourth graders and higher could read this book.
