On a faraway island called Sala-ma-Sond lived King Yertle the Turtle and his turtles. Everyone was happy until Yertle the Turtle stacked his turtles so he could see more and be the king of everything in his sight. The turtles were stacked all day and night. Mack was stuck at the bottom. One day Yertle the Turtle climbed to the top of the pile to see his kingdom. Mack burped and the whole stack of turtles came falling down. Yertle the Turtle was now king of the mud and all of the other turtles were set free.
My favorite part of the story is when Mack burped because all the turtles were set free. My least favorite character is Yertle the Turtle because he stacked the turtles and let them starve. This story teaches me not to be greedy like Yertle. The pictures help tell the story because you can imagine it better in your head.
You should read this story because it teaches you to be nice to others. Also there are a lot of rhymes that can help you become a better reader.
