Magic Treehouse: Afternoon in the Amazon

Jack and Annie have a Magic Tree House in their neighborhood in Frog Creek, Pennsylvania, and it takes them on trips through time and space. They go wherever they need to go to free the librarian, Morgan Le Fay, from her spell. In this adventure, they go to the Amazon Rain Forest to fine the clues to free her from her sixth spell. While they are there, they meet a lot of wild animals. They meet army ants, a huge snake, and lions. They are not always safe. They learn all about the animals and how they survive and live in the forest. Their favorite was the monkey because it helped them get Morgan free from her spell.
I liked this book because it was interesting. I learned a lot about animals. My favorite part was when Jack thought that a big snake was a branch and he grabbed it. The snake jumped out at him. The book was so exciting because of surprises like that. I liked the monkey the best because he kept throwing fruits at Jack and Annie, but he was really there to protect them.
I recommend this book to third and fourth graders because it is really interesting, and kids could relate to it. It is easy to read and fast to get through. I like how there are interesting facts in it and you can learn a lot by reading it.
