Have you ever taken a risk that could get you in so much trouble? That is what happens in the hilarious book, The Report Card. Nora?s best friend, Stephen, wants to see her report card so badly, but when he finally does, he gets a little worried. Nora made all D?s and one C on her report card yet she used to be the one that helped Stephen with school. Why is she doing so poorly? Fifth grader, Nora Rowley, has hidden the fact that she is a genius because all she wants is to be normal, but when she comes up with a plan to prove that grades are not important, things get way out of control.
The Report Card is an incredibly entertaining book that will have your attention from start to finish! The characters are totally unbelievable ? especially Nora. She pulls some extremely zany stunts that I think would not be allowed by most schools and parents. Although Nora is fictional, she does remind me of my brother because he has done some really risky things that could have injured him or gotten him into trouble. This book definitely shows you that grades aren?t the most important thing, but you don?t just blow them off either. I liked this book because it shows that you can?t just say, ?I don?t like grades so I?m not going to study or do homework.? My favorite part of the book is the night Nora takes home her report card, and at dinner she refuses to open it. Her dad said she is going to sit at the table until she shows her report card so Nora sits there and ends up falling asleep. Nora is a character that is really taking a big risk and can get in huge trouble! She could be prevented from moving on to 6th grade if things don?t improve. To see if she ends up doing the right thing, read the book! You won?t be sorry.
I recommend this book for readers who love really really funny books that keep you entertained. You will not be able to put this book down. I also recommend this book because it?s awesome and entertaining, and a kind of book you?ll want to read. This book will interest you if you love reading crazy, unbelievable books. However, this book is not a book for really little kids because the humor in it is meant for older students.
