The Reptile Room

Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire are orphans whose parents died in a fire. They go to live with Count Olaf and prove that he's trying to get their fortune. The Baudelaire's almost have him arrested but he gets away and keeps coming back. Read the book to find out what happens.

I liked the orphans. Klaus was smart since he read so much. Violet was an inventor. Once she invented a lockpick to unlock a suitcase. Sunny had very sharp teeth and used them to bite things.

This book is like the Bad Beginning which is another book in the series of Unfortunated Events. It is related because there are some of the same characters.

I like the illustrations in the book. The illustrations are black and white. In all the books in the series there is a big picture in the front. The picture is about that book. In the back of the book there is a picture about the next book. The pictures show details of the story.

I recommend this book to second through fourth graders. I think they would like it because it is exciting.
