Arthur's Reading Race

Arthur goes to school and learns to read. He reads in the car, in bed, to his dog, and to his sister D.W. He wants to teach D.W. to read. D.W. has to read 10 words. They go walking and she reads "zoo, gas, taxi, and milk". D.W. tells Arthur "don't walk" and "get off the grass". Then they start to go home and D.W. reads "ice cream". They buy the ice cream. D.W. said it was good. Then Arthur sits on a bench and his pants become white from the paint on the bench.

I liked the part when they eat ice cream, because I like to eat ice cream. I also like the part when D.W. reads 10 words because she shows Arthur that she really can read. I think that the illustrations are good because they show me what is happening in the story.

Other kids might like to read this book because they eat ice cream.
