Holes is a very cool book to read because you want to keep on reading it forever and ever. Stanley Yelnats is the main character?s name. He is sent to a detention center in Texas for stealing shoes. The name of the detention center is Camp Green Lake where you dig holes to build character, or so Stanley thinks‼ This story also has flashbacks to when his great- great grandfather was living and when the lake was full of water and not full of holes. To make this entire story better it has also been turned into a movie that I also saw after I read the book.

I loved this book, I read this book three times it was so good. My fourth grade teacher also read this book aloud when I was about nine years old. This book is very funny. When I first heard this book I thought it was sort of like a mystery and it was very interesting. The flashbacks are also hilarious. For example, Stanley?s great-great grandfather?s nickname is ?pig stealing great-great grandfather?.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure and comedy in one. For example my grandfather would like this book. As you can see this is a book for all ages.
