The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Do you believe in fairy tale lands? Lucy not only believes in them but has been to one! She has been to Narnia. You might not believe how she got there though, because she got there by going through a wardrobe! (closet) If you want to know more about this book, keep reading.

Lucy and her brothers, Peter and Edmund, and her sister, Susan, were sent to the professor?s house during the war. One rainy day the kids decide to play hide-and-go-seek. Lucy was hiding. She decided to hide in a wardrobe. In the wardrobe were old, heavy coats. She tried to get as far back as she could, but she kept going farther and farther back. Finally, she saw a light and it was getting colder. She kept on walking. Then she saw a lamppost. She stayed there a while and then she saw a faun (part human, part goat). He invited her to his home and they ate and he played his flute for her. All of a sudden, he starts crying and tells Lucy he brought her to this house to take her to the evil White Witch. He told her that he was working for the witch and that if he ever saw a human he had to take it to the witch. If he didn?t and the witch found out, he would be turned into a statue! (If you want to know what happens next, read the book!!)

I really liked this book because it makes you want to keep turning the pages. This book is a lot like some of the other books by C.S. Lewis because he has a whole series of the ?Chronicles of Narnia.? When I was reading this book, I wished that there really could be a whole different world. I also thought it was cool that the professor knew about the wardrobe. I thought it was interesting that the White Witch only liked it when it was cold and snowy.

I recommend this book because it keeps you in suspense. I think kids who like to read fantasy books will enjoy this one. So if it sounds like a good book, READ IT!!!!!
