This book is about a boy named Harry Potter. His parents were killed by a dark wizard named Voldemort (He Who Must Not Be Named). Harry goes to live with his aunt, uncle, and cousin, the Dursley's. One day, Harry receives a letter from a magical school called Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. When Harry goes to school, he makes new friends named Hermoine Granger and Ron Weasley. One of his teachers tries to kill Harry at the end of the book. This book shows how you shouldn't judge people until you get to know them. If you want to find out why a teacher tries to kill Harry, and whether Harry beats Voldemort, you will have to read this book.
This book is part of a series. It's similar to the other books because they are all mysteries. I found the character Harry interesting, because at first he didn't know much about himself, and later he finds out some really cool things! I thought this book was awesome because I would love to be able to play a sport where I could fly on a broom!
I would recommend this book if you like mysteries and trying to solve them. If you like reading long books with interesting characters, and if you would enjoy flying on a broomstick, then you should definitely read this book!
