Mr. Popper's Penguins

This book is about a man who is a painter named Mr. Popper and he loves Antarctica. One time he wrote a letter to a man named Admiral Drake, who explores Antarctica. One night while Mr. Popper was listening to the radio, Admiral Drake's voice came over the air and said "Mr. Popper, I got your letter. I have a surprise for you, it will come in the mail." The next week Mr. Popper got something in the mail. It was a big box, and on the side it said, "{keep cold" then Mr. Popper got his crowbar and opened it up and out popped a penguin. To find out what happens with Mr. Popper and the penguin read this book.

I think it's a very good book; I liked it because he starts having problems because they have to keep the penguin cold and then they get more. My favorite part in the book was when a penguin goes up the stairs and toboggans down. This book really isn't like any book I've read because I have never read a book with penguins in it; it's a strange book.

I recommend this book because it's a unique kind of book it has some surprises to the characters. I recommend this book to 1st through 5th grade I think its very funny.
