Magic Tree House: Eve of the Emperor Penguin

Cave of the Ancient Crown? That’s what Jack and Annie have to find. Jack and Annie have to find the 4th secret of happiness so they can save Merlin. The Magic Tree House takes them to Antarctica. They find a science station and hop on a tour bus. They nearly get altitude sickness. Then Nancy figures out who they are. They fall into a deep ravine but survive on an ice raft. They find The Cave of the Ancient crown. There they speak to the emperor. They come back with a baby penguin. Then they share their secrets with Merlin.

My favorite part was when the penguin peeped and Jack coughed. That part was weird but I liked it. Annie and Jack were trying to keep the penguin a secret by hiding it in Jack's coat. When the penguin peeped, Jack coughed to help cover it up. It was funny and kind of cute.

I rate this book a 3 out of 5 because I didn’t really like it. It never really got that exciting. I recommend this book to 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders who like mysteries.
