India Opal Buloni got sent to the store by her daddy, the preacher. She needed some white rice, two tomatoes, and some macaroni and cheese, but instead she came back with a dog! Even though there are some rough times for Opal, this is still an AWESOME book!! It is SO heartwarming!! In this story you will know about all the friends Opal and Winn-Dixie will meet and the adventures they will go on.

I'm Patricia, and my favorite part is when Opal found Winn-Dixie because I love dogs like Opal does. I also liked how fast Opal and Winn-Dixie became friends. I am most like Opal because I rescued a dog like Opal did. My connection is when my dog ran away like Winn-Dixie, did but when I came back from looking for him, my dog was at home.

I'm Ella, and my favorite part was when Opal found Winn- Dixie and took him home. I also liked when Opal took Winn-Dixie home because I would have kept him too. I am most like Opal because I would keep a dog that I found in the store because Mrs.Schimmelpfennig would be happy with me. My connection to this story is when my dog ran away like Winn-Dixie did. Every time we saw her, she would run from us. It took hours for my dog to get home.

I'm Jone, and my favorite part is when Opal meets new friends because she got to go to parties with them. I am most like the preacher because I don't like to share much information, and the preacher keeps to himself too. My connection to this story was when I thought my dog and cat ran away like Winn-Dixie did, and they were in my closet.

We recommend this book to readers who like animals. Because of Winn-Dixie is fun to read, and it is also a heartwarming book. We think readers will find the part when Opal found Winn-Dixie interesting because it is so heartwarming.
