The Rainbow Fish

There swam a school of fish and they were playing flash tag. A little fish with stripes swam through their game. They stared at him and he asked if he could play. Then the little fish asked, “Do you have to have a special scale?” All the fish turned back and played their game. Rainbow Fish was afraid of losing his other fish friends. So, he didn’t dare stand up to the other fish. The little fish with the stripes floated alone at the edge of the reef. Rainbow Fish remembered what it felt like to be alone. Suddenly, a shark shot like an arrow into the middle of the school of fish. If you want to find out what happens next then read this great book!

I like this book because it has very colorful illustrations and an exciting problem. My favorite part is when the shark comes along. It reminds me of the movie “Finding Nemo” because the story takes place in the ocean and it is about fish and their friends.

Kindergarteners, first graders, and second graders who like fish and the ocean would love this story.
