Do you love chocolate, candy and other yummy treats? Do you always crave a single bar of chocolate? In Charlie and the Chocolate Factory there are all kids of treats you could only find in your dreams. Little Charlie Bucket lives with his mother, father and his grandparents. His family was really poor. The one thing little Charlie Bucket longed for was chocolate. Charlie only gets one piece of chocolate a year on his birthday. The Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory is in Charlie’s town. Every day little Charlie Bucket would have to pass Mr. Willy Wonka’s giant chocolate factory. “Is it really true that Wonka’s Chocolate Factory is the biggest in the world?” he would ask his grand father. He would always reply “Of course” Mr. Willy Wonka was having a contest. He put 5 golden tickets in 5 chocolate bars. The people who win get to have a tour of the factory and a lifetime supply of treats. Charlie gets a chocolate bar he slowly opens it… but will he get that golden ticket.
I like this book because it has super funny characters and creative yummy treats. My favorite part was when the Oompa Loompas sang the Veruca Salt song. I really liked the character, Mr. Willy Wonka because he is hilarious and crazy. This book is like every other Roald Dahl book because it’s silly and uses nonsense words. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory made me fall out of my seat because I was laughing so hard. It also made me crave chocolate. I love this book so much I could not put it down!
I recommend this book to people in 2nd – 4th grade. This book is good for people who love funny books and tasty treats. It is the first in a 2 book series. If you love the author Roald Dahl like I do, you will fall in love with this amazing book.
