Henry and Mudge and the Bedtime Thumps

Do you wish you could have a dog as your best friend? Well in Henry and Mudge and the Bedtime Thumps, Henry and Mudge are best friends. Henry is worried about Mudge sleeping outside. He’s never slept outside before and he’ll be alone. Will Henry try to sneak Mudge back into the house? Will Mudge get spooked by animals? Read the book and find out what happens.

I enjoyed reading about how Henry and Mudge take care of one another. I also liked the brightly colored illustrations. Mudge is my favorite character because he is very funny! He messes up the house and breaks things and I think that is funny.

I would recommend this book to kids that are nearing the end of first grade and kids in second grade because it is not too difficult to read. Children who like dogs and have a pet would like to read this book because they could connect to the story. Kids who like to read funny books will also like this story because Henry and Mudge do silly things together. Young readers will like the colorful pictures and the large print which makes it easy to read and understand.
