Henry and Mudge the First Book

Do you want to read a book about friendship? Then you should read this book - Henry and Mudge: The First Book. It is about a boy named Henry. Henry had no brothers and no sisters. Henry had no friends on his street! “I want a dog,” he told his parents, and they said “OK!” They bought him a dog named Mudge. Mudge was a puppy. One day while Henry was at school, Mudge took a walk without Henry. He ran down one road and then another road over a stream. When he was on the other side, he was lost. Henry was sad because Mudge was missing. Then he said, “Mudge would never leave and so he must be lost.” So Henry went to look for Mudge. Does he find Mudge? You will have to read the book to find out. I think the author is saying if you have no one to play with, get a pet dog.
One of my favorite parts is when Henry asked his parents if he could have a dog and they said OK. I like it because I feel happy for Henry because he has a friend that he can play with. My connection to Henry is when Henry lost Mudge. It reminds me of when I lost my baseball glove and I really wanted to find it. It helps me understand Henry and that he really wanted to find Mudge and I wanted to find my baseball glove. He is my favorite character in this book. It reminds me of the book Mr. Putter and Tabby Pick the Pears. Mr. Putter is like Henry because they both have pets that they love, and very good ones too. Something unique about this book is that it is the first one of many, many, more books and it is the best of all of them.
I recommend this book to kids that like love and happiness. It has a great lesson that if you are lonely, you should stay with the one you love. Also, people that like dogs and other pets should read this book.
