Fred, Sam, and Joe were at the playground when they heard clucking. It was from a giant chicken but they did not know where it was coming from. The boys had been thinking of something to do for the summer when they were transported to the library. The characters from their reading list came alive. Fred does some skateboarding tricks to get the book from Joe’s uncle. They finally get back home and start the summer reading list.
My favorite part was when the bad guys tried to remix the names of the stories. It was like a puzzle to figure it all out. My favorite character is probably Sam. He is really smart and can figure things out to keep his friends safe. I think anyone who likes silly jokes and bad teddy bears should read this.
I recommend this book for ages 5 to 25. Younger kids might not understand how they travel through time.
