Basket Moon

One day a boy?s father took him to the town of Hudson, New York, to sell some baskets. On the way home they went through the park. A wealthy man said, "A tisket, a tasket, a hillbilly basket. That?s all a bushwhacker knows." The boy became very sad. When the boy returned home he went into his father?s shed and knocked down all the baskets because he was so mad. His father?s friend, Joe, came into the shed and taught him to believe in himself and love his talent of basket making.
We liked how Mary Lyn Ray used beautiful language because it made us relate to the feelings of the characters in the story. I (MIchele) think the illustrations are excellent because they match the words perfectly. I (Christina) like how Mary Lyn Ray said, "He could feel a heavy black shadow all the way home."
We recommend this book to people who never give up. This is a great book for people who believe in what is right. We also recommend this book to people who like crafting.
