The Berenstain Bears and the Bike Lesson

This book is about a Papa Bear who teaches his son, Brother Bear, to ride a bike. He always does lots of things that is not right when he is teaching his son. The things Papa Bear does are very funny, dangerous, and wrong. If Brother Bear does what Papa Bear does, then he would probably get hurt. In lesson 1, Papa Bear teaches Brother Bear how to get on a bike. But Papa Bear falls off the bike. In lesson 2, Papa Bear shows his son how to stop on the bike. But he runs into a tree. In lesson 3, he shows Brother Bear how to turn and he hits a large rock and lands on the roof of a house. In lesson 4, Papa Bear shows his son what to do when he comes to a water puddle. But he goes through the puddle and sinks to the bottom and can't get out. In lesson 5, Papa Bear shows Brother Bear how to ride down a hill. But he runs down through a chicken yard and the farmer runs after Papa Bear. In lesson 6, Papa Bear shows Brother Bear how to be a safe rider. This time he takes a wrong turn and falls off a cliff. His son has to pull him up with a rope. The last lesson Papa Bear teaches Brother Bear is to always ride on the right side of the road. But he gets in the left lane while he is talking and causes trucks to crash. So Brother Bear rides the bike and takes Papa Bear home.

This book is very funny and scary at the same time. I liked reading it because I laughed and was scared at the same time.

I really liked the part when Papa Bear rode straight up the pole because you can't do that in real life.

It reminded me of when I learned how to ride a bike without training wheels. I was scared, but it was fun, too.

I think this story will be enjoyed by 1st and 2nd graders because everybody learns how to ride a bike some time in their life. It teaches you how to ride a bike without getting hurt. If you like to laugh, read this book!
