Dolores and the Big Fire: A True Story

Dolores, the cat, didn?t like to be held and there was a man who didn?t care. Dolores still would sit at the table with him and wait by the door for him to come home. When the man would leave the house at night, he would leave the lights on for her. One night when the man was sleeping, she did something new. Dolores jumped on his head and scratched him and he woke up. There was smoke in the house, the house was on fire! They went to the back door and then the man fell down. Dolores woke him up again and he got outside. The fire trucks came and the firemen gave the man air. The firemen found Dolores just inside the door. Dolores finally woke up after 4 days and she would finally sit on the man?s lap. If it wasn?t for Dolores the man would have died.

I liked this book. It is a true story, not a fantasy. I really liked the drawings, because they looked real. My favorite part of this book was when Dolores started sitting on the man?s lap. I like looking at that picture in the book.

I would recommend this book to others to read. People who like cats will really like this book.
