Strider

Strider is about a boy named Leigh Botts and his friend Barry. They go to the beach. They find a dog who was sitting there for two days. They take the dog home and ask their moms if they can keep him. Leigh and Barry will share him half of the time. They name him Strider. Barry goes away and Leigh has to keep Strider for a month. Everyday Leigh and Strider go to the beach and run. When Barry gets back he sees Leigh and Strider and Strider starts to wag his tail. If you what to know if Leigh and Barry are able to keep Strider you have to read the book.

I liked this book because it's about dogs and I like dogs a lot. It reminds me of my dog, Maxx. He snores when he sleeps. He is very fast and he loves to run around and play like Strider. The unique thing about this book is that it's happy, sad, and funny. My favorite part is when Leigh goes to Barry’s house and they have spaghetti for supper. They throw it at the wall to make sure it’s done. The sad part is when Barry has to leave for the month. The happy thing is that his mom lets them keep Strider. This book is like Winn Dixie because they both find a dog to keep, they both live in trailer parks and both of their owners don’t usually let kids live there.

I would recommend this book because it's funny and happy. I would not recommend this book to anybody under third grade because it might be hard to read. I think what interested me most was when Strider was just sitting on the beach and I wondered what he would do next.
