Mermaid Island

This story is about two girls named Jane and Molly. Jane and Molly like to play and swim together. But Molly has a secret that she has never told anyone. She is a mermaid! When she's about to turn into a mermaid she wraps a towel around her legs. Jane doesn't care that Molly is a mermaid. They still swim and play together because they are friends.

When Molly turned into a mermaid at the beach it reminded me of when I went to the beach and caught sand crabs. I like this story because it is about an island. It was cool when they made a sand castle at the beach. It reminds me of a time when my sister and I built a sand castle at the beach.

I would recommend this book to second graders who like going to the beach. Kids will like when Molly the mermaid's feet turn into a fish tail.
