"But I don't want to be the next granter," said Perloo. "But you have to." Perloo The Bold by Avi is a book about a Monter - a made up animal that looks like a rabbit) named Perloo. He has a request to speak to the granter Jolaine The Great. A granter is like a leader of his people. When Perloo is in the room waiting to speak to Jolaine he is captured by Berwig, Jolaine's son, because he doesn't want Perloo to be the next granter. Perloo is rescued by his friend Lucabara. After he is rescued, he goes to talk to Jolaine but she had died after she wrote the proclamation for Perloo to be the next granter. But everyone thinks that Perloo is the murderer of Jolaine. Perloo must overcome many dangers to earn his place back. Will Perloo be hated? Who will be the next granter? Read it to find out.

My favorite part is when Perloo and Senyous fight. Senyous ties to impress everyone but then Perloo makes him surrender. Perloo kind of reminds me of Martin Luther King Jr. because Perloo gave up his grantership so everyone would be the same. I liked this book because it is about an animal that never gives up on the truth.

I recommend this book to people that like adventure and animals because this is about an animal that goes on an adventure. This book never gets boring.
