Verdi

Once on a pretty island a yellow python snake named Verdi hatched from his egg. He was a different snake. When you first meet him he seems like your average snake but he is trying as many ways as he can think not to become green and lazy like all the other green and lazy snakes. So he went out to talk to all the other bigger snakes. They did not say much. Eventually he turned green but not lazy! This book teaches you that you can accomplish your goal if you keep trying.

One of our favorite parts of the book is when he meets new friends. Another favorite part is when Verdi flings into the air and does a figure eight. We liked this book because it was exciting and packed with adventure. This book reminds us of Stellaluna also by Janell Cannon. Stellaluna is also trying to accomplish a goal also.

We recommend this story for people who have a goal and think that it will be impossible to achieve. If you are a snake lover you will love this book because it is all about snakes.
