The Kissing Hand

This book is about a little raccoon named Chester who doesn't want to go to school. He doesn't want to leave his mom, Mrs. Raccoon. When Mrs. Raccoon sees Chester sad, Mrs. Raccoon says to Chester, "I have a secret that will make your mornings at home just like your nights at school." So if you want to find out what the secret is, you should read this book.

Chester reminds me of me when I was in first grade because I didn't want to go to school either. The illustrations look like they are real, because they show the wild jungle. This book makes me happy every time I read it. I thought about my mom and me.

I recommend this book to kindergarteners, first graders, and second graders, because if you are sad this book will cheer you up.
