Ella Enchanted

In this book a girl named Ella receives a curse of obedience as a baby. When she was eight Ella told her friend, Pamela, about the curse. Pamela tried to give Ella an order, then Ella got mad and punched Pamela. Ella meets a prince whose uncle gives her a terrible command. Will she disobey and over come the curse or will she obey? One of the main lessons in this story is no matter what anyone says or does you have to do what you know is right.

I liked this book because it is extremely hilarious. For example, it tells Ella remembering sliding down the stair banister with her mom. Also, the author used fantastic language such as "I could picture the argument, Mandy's freckles standing out sharper than usual." My favorite part was when Ella got trapped by ogres because she finds many clever ways to escape. This book is unlike any other book I've ever read because Ella has to obey any order anyone gives her.

I recommend this book because it is very grabbing. I did not want to put it down when it was time to be done reading. Especially the part when it has Ella remembering sliding down the stair banister with her mother as she was walking down the stairs. I think people from eight to one hundred who enjoy fairy tales would love this book. I recommend this book to those people because Ella is very courageous and never gives up on her dreams.
