The scarecrow wants us to know what he is made of and what he thinks. He is made of of broom, cloth, sticks, rocks, buttons and grass. He breaks the stereotype of scarecrow who scares the birds away. He loves the crows glide over him.He loves when the sun shines on him. He also loves the worms who crawl on him. He is happy to be the witness of how plants grow. I like this book because I like Cynthia Rylant. I like the way she describes the scarecrow's feelings. She uses powerful words to demonstrate the scarecrow's feelings. I also like how the illustrator drew the pictures. The scarecrow looks real.

I recommend this book who likes Cynthia Rylant. This is one of her best books I have ever read. It is interesting to know the scarecrow's feelings in the middle of the fields. This is the book that you will read over and over.
