Because of Winn Dixie

Tomatoes, onions, and green peppers everywhere! Opal was only supposed to come home with two tomatoes, but came home with a dog. Opal lives in a trailor park where only adults were allowed. However, because her father was a preacher they said that his daughter would be well behaved so Opal got to live there. The only reason Opal got to live in the adult trailor park was because she was quiet and calm and wasn't bouncing off the walls. BUT, if Opal kept that rambunctious dog named Winn-Dixie, she might not be able to stay at that trailor park. Opal doesn't have any friends or family besides her father. Will Opal make friends and keep that dirty, obnoxious dog?

I thought this book was the best book I have ever read because of all the happy, tear-jerking, and sad events that happened. My favorite character was Opal because she is very courageous and loves and cares for dogs as much as I do. She also treats everyone the way she wants to be treated. My favorite part of the book was when Opal had a party at Gloria Dumps house. Everyone, including Miss Franny Block, Otis, Sweetie Pie, Dunlap, Stevie, and Winn- Dixie got to know each other and all become friends. None of this would have been possible if it were not for Winn-Dixie!

I recommend this book to dog lovers or someone who needs an excellent book to read!
