Have you ever had something sad happen to your best friend? The book I am reading is called Bridge to Terabithia. A boy named Jess Aarons wanted to be the fastest runner in school. He trained all summer and thought he could win. When a new girl comes along a beats Jess in the race she changes him forever.

Jess and Leslie form a special friendship. They create a magical place in the woods and call it Terabithia. They pretend they are king and queen of their magical palace. In this kingdom they share their secrets.

When Jess takes a trip to Washington with his teacher something terrible happens. When he finds out what happens he wont' want to come back.

The tragical ending to this story changes Jess forever.

I think this is a great story about true friendship. What I like most about this story is that it is a special friendship between a boy and a girl. This story makes you think about how important friendships are.

I recommend this story to anyone above grade four. It can be difficult to read at times.
