Flat Stanley travels to Mexico to look for the secret ingredient for a special Mexican recipe. Flat Stanley meets La Abuela who is the only person who knows the secret ingredient. There are other people looking for the secret ingredient. Everyone thinks it is cilantro which is used a lot in Mexican cooking. La Abuela shows Flat Stanley that the cilantro is not the secret ingredient, but it is what you do with it. When the cilantro is cooked with the rest of the ingredients, it leaves a wonderful smell in the air.
My favorite part of the story is the end because I found out what the secret was. My favorite character is Flat Stanley because he travels on an adventure to Mexico. This story relates to my life because it was like when I traveled to Nashville and everything was so different. I felt like I was on an adventure like Flat Stanley. The pictures helped by showing me what the characters were doing.
I think others should read this story because it is a very exciting story. It is also interesting and amazing.
