Brian's Winter

Written by Gary Paulsen

If you ever read the story Hatchet, this book is the sequel that tells what would happen if Brian Robeson never got rescued. Brian was stranded after crashing in a plane and got stuck on an island when he had to meet his worst enemy, winter. He has no food, but he has a shelter and he accidentally broke his rifle from the survival kit. Did he die? Did he get hurt? Did he starve? Read Hatchet to answer these three questions.

I enjoyed this book because it was really interesting and it was full of adventure. This book hooked me in so I couldn't put the book down. I would read this book again anytime. The part that I really liked was when the skunk occasionally came to visit him. You would have to read Hatchet to understand how he feels.

I would recommend this book to people who enjoy adventure, excitement and suspense. The age group that would like this book most is people between the ages of ten and above. You have to be a good reader because Hatchet isn't a small book and you should read Hatchet first before reading this book. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. If you don't want to read Hatchet then you could watch the movie called "A Cry in the Wild", it is Hatchet but it just has a different name.
