My favorite character was Sheila because she doesn’t like her sister Libby and I don’t always get along with my sister. I also love Sheila because of her sense of humor. I wish I could be that funny to play tricks on people. Sheila reminds me of my friend because my friend doesn’t like dogs or spiders and Sheila doesn’t like dogs or spiders either. If my friend read Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great, she would probably say, “Boy, Sheila is just like me.” Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great written by Judy Blume is like other books by her such as Double Fudge because she puts Peter Hatcher in most of her books. This book is also like other Judy Blume books, too, because most of them take place in New York City and the beginning of this book takes place in New York City. I would like to be Mouse’s friend because she gave Sheila the best yo-yo there is. Mouse is thoughtful because when Sheila was having her sleepover, Mouse didn’t want Sheila to be hurt when they were doing truth or dare. Mouse came up with an excuse to protect Sheila.
I think Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great would be a just right book for children ages 8-10. If you’re someone who likes books about friendship or kids who become friends, you are definitely going to enjoy this book. I recommend reading this book because in Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great, we see Sheila from another point of view. In other Judy Blume books, Sheila is snotty, stuck up and plain rude. You are going to see Sheila from her point of view. I really enjoyed this book, and I hope you will too.
